Terms of Service

Last updated: August 22, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Beacon Circle mobile application, website, and related services ("Beacon"). By creating an account, accessing Beacon, or accepting these Terms in the app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility and account responsibility

You must be at least 13 years old, meet any higher minimum age required where you live, and be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you use Beacon for a business or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it. You must provide accurate information, protect your login credentials, and promptly tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity through your account.

2. What Beacon provides

Beacon helps users discover and create nearby activities, express interest, communicate in groups, make plans, and interact with participating businesses. Unless we expressly say otherwise, beacons, events, venues, profiles, offers, and related information are created or supplied by users, businesses, organizers, or third-party sources. Beacon is a technology platform and is not the organizer, employer, agent, insurer, or guarantor of those parties.

3. Your content and licence to Beacon

You retain ownership of content you submit, including beacons, requests, messages, photos, reviews, business material, and feedback. You grant Beacon a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, distribute, and otherwise use that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote Beacon. This licence ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, except for lawful retention, backups, previously shared copies, and de-identified material.

You confirm that you own or have permission to submit your content and that its use through Beacon will not violate anyone's rights or any law.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use Beacon to:

5. Moderation, reports, and safety

Beacon has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. We may investigate reports, preserve evidence, remove or limit content, revoke business or identity verification, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate access. We may report conduct to relevant authorities where required or reasonably necessary for safety. Moderation requires judgment; we do not promise to monitor every item or resolve every dispute between users.

6. In-person activities

Meeting people and attending activities in real life can involve risk. Check the activity, host, venue, time, transport, accessibility, age restriction, and safety conditions yourself. Meet in an appropriate public place, tell someone you trust where you are going, protect personal information, and leave any situation that feels unsafe. You decide whether to host, join, attend, redeem, or participate and are responsible for your interactions. Beacon is not an emergency service; contact local emergency services when immediate help is needed.

7. Businesses, places, offers, and redemptions

Businesses and hosts are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their profiles, events, prices, offers, inventory, capacity, fulfilment, refunds, and conduct. Verification indicates that Beacon reviewed specified evidence at a point in time; it is not an endorsement or guarantee. A transaction, redemption, visit, or dispute between you and a business remains between the relevant parties unless Beacon expressly agrees otherwise.

8. Subscriptions, promotions, and payments

Some business features, campaigns, or services may require payment. The price, billing cycle, included features, promotional credits, taxes, and cancellation terms shown at checkout form part of these Terms. Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Razorpay and may also be subject to their terms. You authorize the applicable charges when you complete checkout. Except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase, fees are non-refundable. If you pay for a business subscription while your location claim is under review and that claim is rejected, Beacon will cancel the subscription and automatically refund captured subscription payment. We may correct pricing or billing errors and suspend paid features where payment is overdue, reversed, or disputed.

9. Third-party information, links, maps, and AI

Place details, maps, travel times, event announcements, external links, and AI-assisted plans may come from third parties and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Confirm important details directly with the venue, business, organizer, or authoritative source. AI output is generated automatically and is not professional, safety, medical, legal, or financial advice. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.

10. Beacon intellectual property

Beacon's software, brand, logos, visual design, databases, and original content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Beacon for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, or create derivative services from Beacon except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

11. Service changes and termination

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features, supported regions, or the service. You may stop using Beacon and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk, failed to pay applicable charges, or when required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will survive.

12. Disclaimers

Beacon is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and accuracy. We do not control or guarantee users, businesses, organizers, venues, offers, attendance, safety, or third-party information. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beacon and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss; loss of profits, data, goodwill, opportunity, or business; or harm arising from other users, businesses, events, venues, travel, or third-party services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid Beacon for the relevant service during the three months before the claim or INR 1,000. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without limiting mandatory rights that apply where you live. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. Subject to applicable consumer law, disputes are subject to courts of competent jurisdiction in India.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Beacon changes. We will post the revised Terms here with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law. If you do not agree, stop using Beacon and delete your account.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be submitted through our support form or by email at contactus@beaconcircle.in.
