Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

Beacon Circle ("Beacon", "we", "our", or "us") helps people discover nearby activities, create beacons, make plans, and connect in person. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you use our mobile application, website, and related services.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to Beacon's consumer, community, business, support, and website services. It does not apply to third-party websites, venues, organizers, payment providers, or services linked from Beacon. Those parties have their own privacy practices.

2. Information we collect

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and personalize Beacon, authenticate accounts, show relevant nearby activities and places, enable chats and plans, operate business features, process subscriptions, deliver notifications, verify users or businesses, respond to support requests, measure performance, troubleshoot problems, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, enforce our terms, protect people and property, and comply with applicable law.

Where applicable, we process information to perform our agreement with you, based on your consent, for legitimate uses such as security and service improvement, and to meet legal obligations. You may withdraw consent for optional processing, but some features may then stop working.

4. Location, visibility, and your content

Location access is optional, but Beacon's nearby discovery, mapping, creation, and alert features may not work without it. You can manage location and notification permissions through your device settings. Private-beacon coordinates are displayed less precisely to other users, but no online location-sharing feature can eliminate every inference risk; do not post a home address or other sensitive location unless you are comfortable sharing it.

Your display name, username, profile photo, beacons, public requests, host information, ratings, and other content you intentionally publish may be visible to other users. Chats and restricted beacons are shared with the participants allowed into those spaces. Reports, blocks, identity documents, and private account controls are not displayed publicly.

5. AI-assisted features

When you use an AI-assisted planner, suggestion, categorization, or similar feature, we may send your prompt and the minimum relevant context to an AI service provider to generate a response. Do not include passwords, payment credentials, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal information in free-text prompts. AI output can be inaccurate; verify important venue, timing, price, travel, and safety details yourself.

6. How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information:

7. Storage, transfers, and security

Beacon and its service providers may process or store information in India and other countries. Those locations may have different data-protection laws. We use reasonable contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and restricted storage for verification documents. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Retention and account deletion

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Retention depends on the type of information and may include the life of your account, the expiry of a beacon or chat, applicable payment and accounting periods, safety-investigation needs, dispute windows, and legal obligations.

You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete Account. We will delete or de-identify account information, subject to limited records we may retain for fraud prevention, safety, payment reconciliation, legal compliance, enforcement, backups, or the rights of other users. De-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you may be retained.

9. Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, choose a discovery radius, manage notification and device permissions, leave groups, block or report users, and delete your account through the app. Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; or raise a grievance. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Children

Beacon is not intended for children under 13. You must also meet the minimum digital-consent and contract age that applies where you live. If we learn that an ineligible child has created an account, we will take reasonable steps to remove it. Child-safety concerns should be reported through our Child Safety Standards page.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to Beacon, our providers, or applicable law. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required.

12. Contact and grievances

Questions, privacy requests, or grievances can be submitted through our support form or by email at contactus@beaconcircle.in. Please describe your request clearly and include the email associated with your Beacon account so we can verify and respond to it.
